Squeegee The Ouijia (Halloween Tract)

This is the second of two articles that I’ll be posting on Halloween.
These are actually printed up (with lots of pictures!) to be given out to teenagers at Halloween. Maybe they’ll be useful? (Feel free to reproduce / or email me for the trifold, fully edited pdf. Please don’t alter content or rebrand them without permission. Thanks).

SQUEEGEE THE OUIJIA

So once upon a time there was a huge, freakin’ beastly truck that had a mind of its own and really liked to mow people down – in fact that was all it lived for. It was covered in spikes and skulls, used the blood of its victims for a paint job, and played bad music really loud. Its name was Kidcrushersaurus!

Dorry however was a bit dim, and thought Kidcrushersaurus wasn’t actually that bad. In fact she thought it was much more likely that Kidcrushersaurus was a fluffy white kitty cat that loved people more than anything! So she decided look for Kidcrushersaurus. She put up posters, waved flags, and roamed the streets yelling,

“here Kidcrushersaurus, here boy!”

Of course Kidcrushersaurus showed up, revved his V12 turbo charged engine and blasted towards Dorry. Poor Dorry stood in the middle of the road smiling,

“oh THERE you are Kidycrucshy!”

She crouched down with her arms open wide and …. …

You can guess the ending.

I like stories – here’s a couple from the Bible.

There was once a bloke filled with demons.  They made him cut himself, run around naked, and abandon his mates and family.
He was rubbish at parties.

There was a small lad too who was filled with  a demon that used to make him jump into fireplaces.
Took walking reigns to a whole new level!

In fact the world is full of these stories. Demons mess about with people. They hurt them and make them do dodgy things. These demons do not want to be mates – they want to take control. These demons are bad news.

It seems to me to be a bit weird then when people start talking about ‘contacting demons.’
No, let me rephrase that – it sounds down right stupid, daft, and dangerous! Its like Dorry going ‘here Kidycrushy…’

Why did people suddenly decide demons were actually nice friendly ghosts?

The truth is people all over the world dabble in Ouija Boards, Seances, Mediums, Fortune Telling, Witchcraft and other methods of ‘contacting spirits & demons’ thinking that its just a bit of fun.
Many of them regret it and you can read plenty of ‘bad experience’ stories online.

As a Christian I believe a few things about this:

1. There is nothing special about Ouija boards etc. If you want to contact demons then burning a slipper would have the same effect!

2. If you want to contact demons, however you do it – you will probably be successful.

3. These demons are not good even though they might pretend to be. They are the same demons that have hurt so many people throughout history.

4. There’s an easier way to have a ‘supernatural experience’ – Get to know God instead!

I  understand the pull.  We all want to know that theres more to the world than just the physical! We all feel a bit like Neo. But we also don’t like the ‘boring’ looking world of Religion.

However, from my own experience there’s nothing more supernatural, nothing more powerful, nothing more exciting than knowing God – being filled with the Holy Spirit and having your life changed.

Summoning demons is full of darkness, but God fills your life with light! Can you really argue thats not better? Demons are about dark n’ death. God is all about light n’ life!

So I don’t want to sound preachy. But I do want to encourage you to find out for yourself whether what I’m saying is true. Get yourself a Bible, read about Jesus, read some Psalms. Keep an open mind and open heart and just try -talking- to God (no spells required!) Tell Him about your life, tell Him about the things you love and things that bug you.

I guarantee you that God wants the absolute best for you, He’s nothing weird, and he’s far better than Kidcrushersaurus-type demons!
